How to Apply

  1. Prepare the required documents. Please be aware that different documents are required for different categories of visitor visas. Please note that a new DS-160 application form must be completed each time an applicant applies for a visa.
  2. Make an appointment using the online appointment system for nonimmigrant visa interviews.
  3. Consider other recommended documents that that might help you prove your economic and social ties to your home country.  Please note that Consuls will only review documents other than those that are required that they find useful during an interview.
  4. Come to your interview on time. Applicants who are late to their interview or those who do not have all required documents will not be interviewed. Please do not bring any electronic devices (i.e. cell phones, players, flash drives) to your interview.
  5. All applicants, including children, are required to pay the application fee. This payment is only made on the United States Embassy grounds through the Consular cashier, using currency in good condition and with exact change. This payment may only be made with U.S. dollars. The Consular Section no longer accepts Uzbek soum for payment.  Applicants should keep in mind that the application fee is not refunded in the event of a visa refusal.
  6. Have an interview with the Consul.
