Family-Based Immigration

Two groups of family-based immigrant visa categories, immediate relatives and family preference, are provided under the provisions of U.S. immigration law, specifically the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Due to the announcement of the Government of Uzbekistan on additional days off the U.S. Embassy will be closed on January 1 – 2, 2018. Therefore, the Consular Section is making the following adjustments in its schedule:

All immigrant visa applicants, including applicants for Diversity Visas, whose interviews were scheduled for the first half of the day on January 2, 2018 should wait for E-mail correspondence or a telephone call from the Consular Section informing them of the new dates of their interviews.
