U.S. Passport Renewals for Adults

Passport processing time: Approximately 3 weeks from your passport appointment.

Please follow these steps to renew your passport:

1. Complete the Passport Form (DS-82) 

Fill out the DS-82 form online and print it (https://pptform.state.gov/). Please provide your Social Security number on the U.S. passport application to avoid delays in processing.

2. Pay the Passport Fee Online 

You can pay online at Pay.Gov.  You can pay with a credit or debit card, a bank transfer (ACH), Amazon Pay, or PayPal. Please make sure to print out the receipt showing the electronic payment confirmation. 3. Schedule an Appointment at the U.S. Embassy

Make an appointment to apply in person at the U.S. Embassy using our Online Appointment System. The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent does not accept passport applications by mail and requires applicants to appear in person for a U.S. passport service.

Please bring the following to your passport appointment: 

  1. Completed passport application (DS-82)
  2. Passport electronic payment receipt
  3. The U.S. passport you are renewing.
  4. One 2″ X 2″ (5 cm X 5 cm) photograph with a white background. Eyeglasses are no longer allowed in U.S. passport photos. Please see our passport photo requirements.
U.S. Passport Application for: Minors, First Adult Passport, Emergencies

Passport processing time: Approximately 3 weeks from your passport appointment.

Please follow these steps to renew your passport:

1. Complete the Passport Form (DS-11) 

The DS-11 form is required for children under the age of 16, first time adult applicants (16 years and older), replacing a lost or stolen passport, and for applying for an emergency passport.

Complete the form online and print (https://pptform.state.gov/).

2. Schedule an Appointment at the U.S. Embassy

Make an appointment to apply in person at the U.S. Embassy using our Online Appointment System. The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent does not accept passport applications by mail and requires applicants to appear in person for a U.S. passport service.

Please bring the following to your passport appointment: 

  1. Completed passport application (DS-11)
  2. Proof of Identity: Provide a valid identity document that has your current name, signature, and your physical description or photograph, such as a previous passport (U.S. or foreign) or driver’s license.
  3. One 2″ X 2″ (5 cm X 5 cm) photograph with a white background. Eyeglasses are no longer allowed in U.S. passport photos. Please see our passport photo requirements
  4. Payment: You can pay for your passport application by U.S. dollars cash or credit card at the time of appointment. Current U.S. passport fees can be found here: (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/fees.html)
  5. Previously issued U.S. passport (if applicable). In case of a Lost or Stolen passport service, please provide a photocopy of your passport.
Additional Documents for Minor Children Applications (under 16 years of age):
  • Proof of parentage: U.S. or foreign birth certificate of minor children (with parents’ names), Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or adoption decree,
  • Consent from both parents: Both parents should be at the passport appointment. If one parent cannot be present, he or she may sign a written affidavit using the DS-3053 parental consent form. The form must be notarized by a notary public or signed at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate within the previous three months. The parent at the passport appointment should bring the original notarized consent form along with a copy of the non-appearing parent’s photo ID. If one parent has legal custody of the minor child, please provide the court order establishing custody or legal guardianship.

Additional Documents for Lost / Stolen Applications:

  • We strongly recommend that you report the loss or theft of your U.S. passport immediately to the district office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Uzbekistan. This office will issue a letter confirming the report. This letter will help you renew your Uzbek visa or obtain an exit visa and make your departure from Uzbekistan much smoother.
