The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Announces New COVID-19 Testing Measures For All Arriving Travelers Starting December 25, 2020
The Republican Special Commission for the Preparation of the Program of Measures to Prevent the Entry and Spread of Coronavirus announced a new rule requiring express testing for Coronavirus antigens for all individuals entering Uzbekistan. The rule comes into effect on December 25, 2020.
Express testing will be carried out at airports, railway stations and border checkpoints at the expense of the individuals entering Uzbekistan.
According to the new regulation, even those who have a certificate of negative results from previous PCR tests for COVID-19 must submit to the express test.
If the rapid test results are positive, patients will be referred to a medical facility that specializes in the treatment of coronavirus infection, or referred for treatment at home.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs asks Uzbek nationals and foreign nationals planning to visit Uzbekistan to take into account the new procedure when entering the country on or after December 25, 2020.
