Assalomu alaykum, добрый вечер, and good evening! How is everybody? It is my great pleasure to welcome all of you to this beautiful hall for a wonderful concert featuring the group from Los Angeles, Alice Underground.

I would also like at the very beginning to thank the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Abdulaziz Kamilov and his staff for all they did to make this concert possible. He is a great lover of jazz and we are delighted that he is here tonight with his family to enjoy it with us. Thank you. We also want to thank the Ministry of Culture and Sport for their support and of course we want to thank all of you for coming out this evening to enjoy what we know is going to be a fantastic concert.

Now, Alice Underground is a great group. Some of you may have had a chance to look at their work online. I hope you did. They are from Los Angeles and they perform a a mix of the great jazz tradition, especially from the 1940`s, a great era in jazz.

I said they are from Los Angeles and that warms my heart because I went to high school in California and that is where I will be spending the holidays this year. So welcome, and I see you brought some sunshine.

Now, talking is great – I know that I see a lot of my diplomatic colleagues here and we are in the business of words – words are great, but music is better. So let’s get to the show, and enjoy it.

E’tiboringiz uchun rahmat!
